Carbon Monoxide (CO), is one of the most toxic components of vehicle exhaust, and a significant safety concern in parking structures. Gas-powered vehicles make use of these structures on a regular basis and emit CO. When concentrations of CO approach unsafe levels, the ventilation system must be activated to normalize the parking area. Due to energy and environmental concerns, it is recommended in most of standards to use CO sensing control systems for new parking garages. A wide range of gas detection and control systems is available for handling the sequence of operations for enclosed parking structures.
